eat the sorrow

The actual picture for this month is kept on the seeing red, explicitly page, but I’ll put the blurb here.

catharsis |kəˈθärsis|
noun
1 the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions.
2 rare Medicine purgation.
ORIGIN early 19th cent. (sense 2) : from Greek katharsis, from kathairein ‘cleanse,’ from katharos ‘pure.’ The notion of “release” through drama ( sense 1) derives from Aristotle’s Poetics.

This month has seen me listening to too much Patrick Wolf in combination with the beginning of winter and the onset of a melancholic mood I found difficult to control. Until I realised I was premenstrual. Now I’m placating myself by abandoning my mooncup and bleeding vengefully on everything.

Music and lyrics property of Patrick Wolf, and video property of Yohanna Verngren.

Bloodbeat by Patrick Wolf
I wake at dusk to go alone
Without a light
To the unknown
I want this night inside of me
I want to feel
I want this speeding
I want that speeding

My blood beats black tonight!

No need for comfort
No need for light
I am hunting for secrets tonight
Eat the sorrow lick the spark
Uh oh, my blood beats dark

And here it comes
It comes for me
I want to run
I want to scream
Get in my car with both eyes closed
Full pedal down
And I am speeding!

My blood beats black tonight!

No need for comfort
No need for light
I am hunting down demons tonight
Eat the terror lick the spark
Uh oh, my blood beats dark
